Dr. Bill Andrews is an internationally recognized molecular biologist, pioneering telomere scientist, and leading authority in regenerative medicine. Widely regarded as one of the world’s foremost experts in telomerase research and healthy longevity, he has dedicated his career to advancing the science of aging, regenerative health, and lifespan extension.

At Africa Precision Health, Dr. Andrews serves as Chief Scientific Advisor and Head of the Scientific Advisory Committee, helping bridge cutting-edge longevity science with the future of precision medicine innovation across Africa. His leadership supports the organization’s mission to advance personalized, preventive, and regenerative healthcare solutions across the continent and beyond.

Dr. Andrews brings more than years of scientific leadership in molecular biology, biotechnology, genetics, and regenerative health. He earned his Ph.D. in Molecular & Population Genetics from the University of Georgia and became globally recognized for leading foundational research involving the discovery and development of human telomerase science - one of the most important breakthroughs in understanding cellular aging and longevity.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Andrews has held senior scientific and research positions at leading biotechnology organizations including Geron Corporation, Berlex Biosciences, EOS Biotech, and Codon Corporation. He is the Founder and CEO of Sierra Sciences, a company focused on reversing cellular aging through telomerase-based therapies, and also serves as Chairman of the Institute of Advanced Telomere Medicine in Tokyo, Japan. His research contributions span aging, cancer biology, cardiovascular disease, inflammation, osteoporosis, regenerative genomics, and gene regulation. Dr. Andrews has played key roles in the development and advancement of numerous landmark scientific innovations and therapeutics, including telomerase discovery, TA-65, telomerase gene therapy, hTERT mRNA RT-PCR technologies, TRAPeze, and several emerging longevity-focused treatments.

In 1997, Dr. Andrews received national recognition as a finalist for Inventor of the Year for his groundbreaking cancer research. He has co-authored numerous scientific publications and patents related to telomerase, cellular regeneration, and longevity therapeutics, with work referenced in leading journals including Science, Nature Genetics, and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Beyond the laboratory, Dr. Andrews is also an accomplished ultramarathon runner, having completed more than 100 ultramarathons. He advocates for consistent endurance exercise, metabolic optimization, and inflammation reduction as important components of healthy aging and longevity.
